Forward: Justin Tremblay, Northern Cyclones
Tremblay (‘03/Becancour, Que.) was immense during the month of February, putting up six goals and 19 assists for 25 points in 12 games. He would go on to finish with 68 points in 44 games, improving upon the 49 points he put up in 2022-23. His +7 was also a leading number for Cyclones forwards during the last month. He also finished with a six-game multi-point streak of 20 points.
Forward: Sean Tyrie, Utica Jr. Comets
Tyrie (‘04/East Quogue, N.Y.) was an absolute sniper during the month of February, putting up 11 goals on 45 shots for a 24.4 percent shooting percentage. He added seven assists for 18 points in 10 games last month, most of which was part of a 13-8-21 streak in 10 games that ran from Jan. 31 to Feb. 22. His +13 in February was good for second on the team.
Tyrie, who has played in 22 NCDC games the past two seasons, has put up 25 goals and 45 points in 26 Premier games this year. For the Jr. Comets all-time, he has 114 points, which is fourth in Premier team history, but his 1.68 points per game is the best average for a Premier Jr. Comet going back to the first year of the Premier in 2017-18.
Forward: Chris Foster, Springfield Pics
The career Pic Foster (‘04/Amherst, Mass.) finished the season on a huge roll, especially in terms of assists. He passed out 14 helpers and added two goals for 16 points in 11 games in February. He put up 33 points in 29 games for this season, and he added two goals in three postseason games in March. He tied for the team lead in plus-minus in February with a +2, as well. Foster first joined the USPHL’s Pics at the 15U level in 2019-20 and made his junior debut in 2020-21 with the Elite and Premier Pics. He was an Elite regular in 2021-22, moving up to Premier from there, a true example of #USPHLAdvancement In Action!
Defense: Richard Gruber, Boston Junior Bruins
Ahead of pulling off the first big shock of the 2024 USPHL Playoffs, the Boston Junior Bruins were enjoying some success by registering four wins among their 10 games that month. Gruber (‘04/Wien, Austria) was a key part of not only that, but the sweep of the No. 2 seed Northern Cyclones to close the month. In the regular season games to close February, he put up two goals and 10 assists for 12 points in 10 games. He was also the leader in plus-minus among defensemen with a +5, and he was second in ice time for Junior Bruins defensemen with a 20:57 mark.
Defense: Trevor Belak, Northern Cyclones
Belak (‘04/Pittsburgh, Pa.) registered four goals and seven assists for 11 points in 12 games to close the regular season. His 22:09 also led the Cyclones through the month in terms of ice time. Belak split time this year between the Premier and NCDC Cyclones, playing in 22 games with the former and 14 in the latter. He put up 15 Premier points this year to close out a two-year run of 38 points in 64 games that included the 2023 National Championship.
Goaltender: Cameron Prodin, Northern Cyclones
The Cyclones went 9-1-2-0 during February, giving them 20 points which tied with the Seattle Totems for most points in the year’s shortest month. For most of that time, Prodin (‘04/Dearborn, Mich.) went 6-0-2-0 with a .955 save percentage and a 1.24 goals against average. He stopped 211 of 221 shots faced and this included a 19-save shutout to end the regular season against the Islanders Hockey Club. Prodin has gone 17-3-0-0 with a .920 save percentage over his two years in the Premier Conference.
