Officiels Elite Association Sports Management Staff
The Officiels Eltie Association Sports Management organization has proven over the past few years that it is a leader in Canada in terms of officials training, officials placement and personalized officials development. OEA will manage the officiating, including scheduling, supervising and education, for all USPHL games to be played in Canada this season.
The managers’ personal relationship with the group’s officials is the key to the OEA’s success and reputation. He takes the time required to get to know the strengths of each of his officials, so that he can assign each referee according to their abilities and experience, and to ensure that everyone has as much fun as possible at each game. This allows a natural progression for the younger referee, while maximizing each individual’s potential.
Protecting players is always a priority for the OEA organization. In order to provide excellent support to all league players and officials, OEA Sports Management founding president David Thériault is very proud of the opportunity he will be able to give to young and veteran Quebec officials. The USPHL and their organization are directly in line with our values of education and the style of hockey played.
David Thériault has hired Nick Piché and Martin Wagner. Nick Piché will act as Director of Officials and Co-Supervisor of Officials for the first-year USPHL Canada Division. After more than 10 seasons in the QMJHL, Memorial Cup, NHL Combines, World Junior Hockey Championship and the World Senior Hockey Championship, Nick will be a great asset to the USPHL.
Martin Wagner will act as Assignor of Officials and Co-Supervisor of Officials. Martin has over 22 seasons in the LNAH – Ligue Nord-Américaine de Hockey – including 177 games as a linesman and 310 games as a referee. He has officiated over 560 games in his career. In addition, Martin was Director of Officials for the LNAH for five seasons.
All this experience will be available to supervise the young and veteran referees of the OEA group for all games in the new Canada Division.
