NCDC Players Of The Week: New England Division

Week of Sept. 23-29

Forward: Michael Markowski, Northern Cyclones

Markowski (‘04/Spring Lake, N.J.) put up two goals and an assist against the Islanders Hockey Club in the rivals’ first game, a win for the Cyclones. He also scored his fourth goal in four games in a shootout loss to the Boston Jr. Rangers. His two assists this year puts the returning Cyclone at six points in four games.

Defense: Jason Zaccari, South Shore Kings

Zaccari (‘05/Santa Ana, Calif.) helped the Kings to a pair of wins against the Utica Jr. Comets, over which he posted a goal and three assists for four points. The veteran King who helped the team to its first Dineen Cup last spring is clicking on a point-per-game pace right now.

Goaltender: Mason Jones, Boston Jr. Rangers

Jones (‘05/Auburn, N.Y.) has risen up from the USPHL Premier to the NCDC in a great story of USPHL Advancement In Action. Early on, with the Jr. Rangers, he has picked up his first NCDC win as he made 33 saves on 34 shots in 65 minutes of action, and then he stopped three Cyclones shots. He is currently 1-1 with a .932 save percentage.

Rookie: Killian Wright, Thunder Hockey Club

Wright (‘06/County Cavan, Ireland) registered three assists when the Thunder earned their third victory of the season, coming against the Seacoast Spartans on Sept. 29. Wright joined the Thunder this year from South Kent Selects Academy, and he is a past NCDC Entry Draft Pick.
