NCDC Players Of The Week: Atlantic Division

Week of Oct. 22, 2024

Games of Oct. 15-21, 2024

Forward: Jared Rothman, Rockets Hockey Club

Rothman (‘06/Chappaqua, N.Y.) is on the NCDC’s longest points streak, as he has points in every game outside of his first of the season. At the Hitmen Classic, he put up two goals and added four assists, including four helpers in their comeback win against the Boston Jr. Rangers on Oct. 17 to open their run. He also scored the GWG in a 3-1 win over the Seacoast Spartans on Oct. 18 and scored again on Oct. 19 en route to a 3-0 sweep of the event by the Rockets. Over 10 straight games, he has a 5-10-15 line.

Defense: Dylan Margel, Rockets Hockey Club

Margel (‘05/Potomac, Md.) has already bypassed his 2023-24 season totals with the Rockets, especially after putting up two goals and three assists for five points for the Rockets as they swept all three of their Hitmen Classic games. He registered a 2-2-4 line in the Rockets’ 6-4 win over the Boston Jr. Rangers last Thursday, and then also added an assist in the Rockets’ finale 4-1 win against the Thunder Hockey Club.

Goaltender: Lukas Vejmelka, P.A.L. Jr. Islanders

Vejmelka (‘06/Trebic, Czechia) put up a fantastic two-game performance at the Hitmen Classic for P.A.L., which began by stopping all 32 shots in the Classic NCDC opener on Thursday afternoon. He came back to the crease two games later, stopping 25 of 28 in an OT loss to Utica. Overall, he had 57 saves on 60 shots for a .950 save percentage.

Rookie: Ty Oller, Jersey Hitmen

The career Jersey Hitmen forward Oller (‘05/Wayne, N.J.), who came up to the NCDC from the Hitmen’s own 18U AAA team in the Tier 1 Hockey Federation, registered five assists in three Hitmen Classic games over which the host team went 2-0-1-0. He had four assists in their second game on Friday, a 6-2 win over the Utica Jr. Comets. He added one more in a close 4-3 victory against the Islanders Hockey Club on Saturday for a five-assist showing at the event.

Selection Process: Team coaches first nominate players, the League sends back finalists, and coaches are then able to further vote on finalists or nominate other players.
