South Shore Kings 4, Worcester Railers JHC 3 

The Kings extended their winning streak to 10 games on Friday by defeating the Worcester Railers JHC at home. The Kings got the GWG from Jake Kavanagh (’05/Montreal, Que.), and his 60th career point from the goal also put him in the top five for the Kings’ all-time NCDC history. Zachary Walsh (’05/Lake View, N.Y.) and Hunter Bruce (’05/Dartmouth, N.S.) each had two assists, and Xavier Vaillancourt (’04/Pointe-Claire, Que.) put up a goal and an assist. Lukas Fursten (’05/Trebic, Slovakia) stopped 30 of 33 shots in the win.

 

Thunder Hockey Club 4, Seacoast Spartans 1

The Thunder Hockey Club earned their second straight win and improved to a tie for second in New England Division points (14) on Friday, with their 4-1 win over Seacoast. Evan Luxford (’05/Sun Prairie, Wis.) – a former Hudson Havoc USPHL Premier standout and a great example of USPHL Advancement In Action – scored the GWG and added one assist. Ben Lees (’05/Woburn, Mass.) also scored a goal and an assist, and Roger Davis (’04/Newfields, N.H.) put up two assists. Jeffrey Kreidler (’04/Pittsburgh, Pa.) stopped 39 of 40 for the win.

 

West Chester Wolves 4, Connecticut Jr. Rangers 3 (SO) 

Emil Szepesi (’06/Timra, Sweden) scored the shootout game-winner for the Wolves on the road, while during regulation, the Wolves got a pair of goals from Logan Lambrecht (’06/Williston, Vt.) in his first NCDC game. Aaron Bleier (’05/Pittsburgh, Pa.)  scored a goal and an assist, and NCDC veteran Seiya Ishida (’04/Tomokamai, Japan) had two assists. Another NCDC veteran, Griffin Davis (’05/Nashua, N.H.) stopped 45 of 48 shots in regulation and stopped two more in the shootout.

 

Rockets Hockey Club 5, Jersey Hitmen 2

The Rockets got five straight goals to come back from being down 2-0 and get the win, giving the Hitmen their first regulation loss of the season. The team got a three-point effort (1-2-3) from Quinten Harvie (’05/Comox, B.C.) while Trevor Bodie (’07/Kingston, N.Y.) had two assists. Xavier Delisle (’07/La Sarre, Que.) registered 20 saves on 20 shots to get the win in relief.

 

Mercer Chiefs 5, Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Knights 1

The Mercer Chiefs registered their eighth straight win on Friday night, with Gregory Diamond (’04/West Chester, Pa.) and Casey Johnson (’05/Sewell, N.J.) each scored twice. Jake Stevens (’05/Newton, N.J.) registered four assists, and the Chiefs got two helpers apiece from Brody Finnegan (’05/Fort Bragg, N.C.) and William Filteau (’05/Claranceville, Que.)  Dominick Gatto (’05/St. Charles, Ill.) stopped 25 of 26 shots.

 

Utica Jr. Comets 3, Islanders Hockey 1

Zach Groleau (’06/St-Constant, Que.) put up a goal and two assists for three points, including the GWG. Additionally, Gustas Zemaitis (’06/Barrington, Ill.) put up a 1-1-2 line, and Michael Valenta (’05/Sumperk, Czechia) stopped 28 of 29 shots for the win.

 

Utah Outliers 3, Rock Springs Grizzlies 2

The Outliers got a goal and an assist apiece from Justin Obrochta (’06/Shore View, Calif.) and Carson Castro (’06/Anaheim, Calif.), and 40 saves on 43 shots from American International College recruit Marcus Ouellet (’04/Toronto, Ont.)  to help them stem a Grizzlies comeback attempt for a victory. They are undefeated in regulation through five (3-0-1-1).

 

Idaho Falls Spud Kings 4, Casper Warbirds 1

Bookie Warshaw (’05/Gilbert, Ariz.) scored the GWG in the first period, and Charlie Durkin (’06/Glencoe, Ill.) made 25 saves on 26 shots for the victory.

 

Ogden Mustangs 4, Pueblo Bulls 3

The Mustangs got a pair of goals from Brody Simko (’04/Butler, Pa.) including the regulation GWG in a 4-3 victory against the Visiting Pueblo Bulls. University of Notre Dame recruit Jackson Walsh (’05/Northville, Mich.) put up two assists, and Caleb Bendell (’05/Chanhassen, Minn.) Dilans Birkans (’06/Ilskile, Latvia) stopped 18 of 21 shots in the win.
