The Islanders got the shootout winner from James Freelove (’05/Tyngsboro, Mass.) en route to a victory. Cameron Stehle (’06/Raleigh, N.C.) scored a goal and added one assist, while Ryan Crowshaw (’04/Avon, Conn.) had the win in net.
Northern Cyclones 5, Boston Jr. Rangers 2
Alex LoGuercio (’04/New York, N.Y.) scored twice, and the Cyclones got a goal and an assist apiece from Lukas Eich (’05/Czechia) and Lukas Saving (’05/Stockholm, Sweden). Keenan Schneider (’04/Villanova, Pa.) registered two assists, and in net, Paul Dalessio (’05/Burlington, Mass.) stopped 30 of 32 shots for the win.
Mercer Chiefs 6, Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Knights 3
Veteran Chief Gregory Diamond (’04/West Chester, Pa.) led with a 1-3-4 line as the Chiefs pushed to a 6-3 victory on their Breast Cancer Awareness Night. The Chiefs also got a goal and an assist for each of Tyler Agnew (’04/Kalamazoo, Mich.), Samuel Ciappa (’05/Baldwinsville, N.Y.) and William Filteau (’05/Claranceville, Que.) Jake Stevens (’05/Newton, N.J.) and Brody Finnegan (’05/Fort Bragg, N.C.) each put up two assists, and goalie Dominick Gatto (’05/St. Charles, Ill.) stopped 21 of 24 shots in the net.
South Shore Kings 5, Thunder Hockey Club 1
The Kings’ Will Rassier (’04/Princeton, N.J.) put up a goal and two assists for three points to come back to the top of the league’s scoring chart with 18 points as the Kings won their 11th in a row. Jason Zaccari (’05/Santa Ana, Calif.) registered a goal and an assist to become the league’s leading scorer among defensemen with 16 points. Jake Kavanagh (’05/Montreal, Que.) registered two assists. Lukas Fursten (’05/Trebic, Slovakia) made 26 saves on 27 shots to remain the league’s winningest goalie with nine W’s so far.
West Chester Wolves 5, Connecticut Jr. Rangers 2
Defenseman Roman Cicco (’05/Export, Calif.) registered a goal and added two assists as the Wolves picked up a 5-2 win, their second in a row to move into third in the Atlantic. Logan Lambrecht (’06/Williston, Vt.) scored twice, while Connor Stokes (’05/Easton, Md.) registered a goal and an assist. Drew McCandless (’05/Victor, N.Y.), Brayden Sprickman (’05/Erie, Pa.) and Joshua Swan (’04/Chateuguay, N.Y.) each had two assists. Griffin Davis (’05/Nashua, N.H.) scored 30 saves on 32 shots.
P.A.L. Jr. Islanders 4, Rockets Hockey Club 3 (OT)
Trey Wandall (’05/Lithia, Fla.) scored the first and the last – i.e. overtime – goal for the P.A.L. Jr. Islanders in an otherwise constant back-and-forth game against the Rockets. Carson Nickulas (’04/Barnstable, Mass.) scored a goal and an assist, while Lukas Vejmelka (’04/Trebic, Czechia) stopped 27 of 30 shots.
Utah Outliers 3, Pueblo Bulls 1
Jake Lundeen (’05/Gig Harbor, Wash.) scored all three goals for the Outliers and Jeffrey Fillion (’04/Chicoutimi, Que.) – a former USPHL Premier National Championship-winning goaltender – made 17 saves on 18 shots for the victory. After earning points in their last six games, the Outliers have tied the Ogden Mustangs for first in points in the Mountain Division.
Idaho Falls Spud Kings 7, Casper Warbirds 2
The Spud Kings came back from being down 2-0 after the first period by putting up seven unanswered goals. They got three-point (1-2-3) performances from both William Donovan (’04/Zionsville, Ind.) and Easton Edwards (’05/Anchorage, Alaska). Tyler Atchison (’06/Las Vegas, Nev.) and Andrew Schmidt (’05/Chicago, Ill.) scored twice apiece. Additionally, Bookie Warshaw (’05/Gilbert, Ariz.) had two assists, while Sammy Grimaldi (’05/Elk Grove Village, Minn.) had a goal and an assist. Joseph Bertram (’06/Edina, Minn.) stopped 30 of 32 shots.
