Forwards
Michael Markowski, Northern Cyclones
Markowski (‘04/Spring Lake, N.J.) registered 10 goals and added five assists for 15 points in 12 games through September and October. He finished October in a three-way tie for the NCDC goals lead. He started out the season with a four-game point streak, and remains on the same as he bridged October and November. Markowski’s total of 11 goals this season gives him 31 for his career, which is fourth all-time in the Cyclones’ NCDC history going back to 2017-18.
Will Rassier, South Shore Kings
Rassier (‘04/Princeton, N.J.) has been an immense pickup for the Kings as he joined South Shore already with a full NCDC season under his belt. What did the Kings get in Rassier? Only the league’s leading scorer as of the final candy bars being handed out on Halloween night. He put up a 7-11-18 line through 12 games for a 1.5 points per game average. He is currently only three points off matching his 2023-24 points total through 30 games.
Braxton Powers, Islanders Hockey Club
The Captain of the Islanders, the three-year veteran Powers (‘04/Raleigh, N.C.) has been tremendous in keeping the IHC near the top of the New England standings all season. He’s been Mr. Consistent, scoring seven goals and seven assists for 14 points through his first 14 games. Additionally, Powers recently moved into second all-time in IHC scoring with a 40-41-81 line for his career and is just five points off tying current University of New Hampshire (NCAA Division I) forward Cy LeClerc at the top of the team leaderboard.
Forward Honorable Mention: Jack DesRuisseaux, South Shore Kings
Defensemen
Jason Zaccari, South Shore Kings
Zaccari (‘05/Santa Ana, Calif.) is a returning Dineen Cup champion and he’s looked every bit the part, putting up three goals and 13 assists for 16 points in just 12 games to stand as the top scorer among defensemen league-wide. Zaccari has helped keep the Kings on a 13-game winning streak since they fell in their Sept. 19 opener. The Kings defense has given up only 25 shots on goal per game on average, the best number in the NCDC.
Samuel Larsson, Islanders Hockey Club
Larsson (‘04/Stockholm, Sweden) put up two goals and 10 assists for 12 points in 14 games out of the gate this year. He became the IHC’s all-time leader in points by a defenseman with 46 so far in his career, and he helped the Islanders jump out to a strong start that currently sees them ranked in third place in New England. The Islanders are fourth in fewest shots against per game at 30.79.
Defense Honorable Mention: Brian Grant, South Shore Kings
Goaltender
Lukas Fursten, South Shore Kings
Fursten (‘05/Trebic, Slovakia) has burst onto the scene in the NCDC and led the league in wins through Halloween with nine. Additionally, he is on a nine-game winning streak and his 1.45 goals against average ranks fifth overall in the NCDC. With two shutouts, he is also tied with four others for second in the league.
Goaltender Honorable Mention: Paul Dalessio, Northern Cyclones
Selection Process: The division’s coaches are presented with a ballot form with statistical leaders (ranked by points per game average for skaters and save percentage for goaltenders) and vote on that form. The league takes the results of that vote and presents the coaches with the finalists, who are able to vote on further changes if desired.
