USPHL Premier Midwest Division Players Of The Month: October 2024

Note: September statistics are also included in October Players Of The Month

Forwards

Alexis Toussaint, Fort Wayne Spacemen

Toussaint (‘04/Varennes, Que.) was already one of the top Spacemen performers in their six-year history when he started this season, and he utilized a hot start to pass the 100-point mark and sits fourth in Fort Wayne history with 108 points, and currently first in career points per game at 2.08. Through the end of October, he had 10 goals and 11 assists for 21 points in eight games, an average of 2.63 for this season alone.

Bogdan Vysotsky, Fort Wayne Spacemen

Vysotsky (‘05/Volgrad, Russia) enjoyed an even 10-10-20 line in the Spacemen’s eight games through Halloween, good for an average of 2.5 points per game. This has helped the second-year Spaceman improve his career points per game to 1.22, with 39 points in 32 since last season. His seven-game, 10-goal streak was the second-longest goal-scoring streak of the season as of Oct. 31.

Alexander Musyakevych, Chicago Cougars

Musyakevych (‘05/Wilmette, Ill.) registered 10 goals in 10 games and also added five assists for 15 points. With that performance, Musyakevych was just one point off of bypassing his full season 2023-24 offensive total.

Forward Honorable Mention: Broderik Burge, Fort Wayne Spacemen

Defense:

Antoine Bonin, Fort Wayne Spacemen

Bonin (‘05/Bromont, Que.) helped the Spacemen to an active eight-game winning streak as he racked up a 4-7-11 line in nine games, giving him an average of 1.22 points per game, among the best for Premier defensemen in September and October. Bonin is in his second season in the Premier and just two points off of his 2023-24 points total.

Cyler Brogle, Chicago Crush

Brogle (‘04/Glen Ellyn, Ill.) rejoined the Crush for his third season, and had assists in each of their first three games out of the gate. They won all three of those and had points in their first four contests overall. Along with three assists in four games, Brogle also helped keep the Crush’s opponents to just four goals in their first three games. Brogle now has 30 points in 69 career regular season games.

Defenseman Honorable Mention: Maksym Maiuk, Fort Wayne Spacemen

Goaltender

Jordan Nicolucci, Fort Wayne Spacemen

A second-year Premier veteran, Nicolucci (‘04/Montreal, Que.) put up a fantastic start to the season by going 5-0-0-0 with an exactly 1.00 GAA, which was No. 1 in the league to end October. Nicolucci stopped 88 of 93 shots in 300 minutes of action for a .946 save percentage, and he also had two shutouts.

Goaltender Honorable Mention: Herman Zippeldt, Fort Wayne Spacemen

Selection Process: The division’s coaches are presented with a ballot form with statistical leaders (ranked by points per game average for skaters and save percentage for goaltenders) and vote on that form. The league takes the results of that vote and presents the coaches with the finalists, who are able to vote on further changes if desired.
