Marko Petras, Universel Sherbrooke

Petras (‘04/Kezmarok, Slovakia) has also drawn heads for putting up a 3-7-10 line in 12 games and helping the first-year Sherbrooke squad to be a major player right from the outset in Canada. He helped his Universel team bridge October and November with a four-game winning streak to jump three games over .500.

Defenseman Honorable Mention: Matt Burns, Hawkesbury Knights

Goaltender

Alexis Cloutier, Universel Sherbrooke

Cloutier (‘08/Laval, Que.) has more than held his own as one of the younger goaltenders in the Premier Conference. He put up a 3-1-0-0 record with 105 saves on 112 shots between September and October for a .938 save percentage to lead the Canada Division in that category.

Goaltender Honorable Mention: Marcus Gomes, College Universel Gatineau

Selection Process: The division’s coaches are presented with a ballot form with statistical leaders (ranked by points per game average for skaters and save percentage for goaltenders) and vote on that form. The league takes the results of that vote and presents the coaches with the finalists, who are able to vote on further changes if desired.
