USPHL Alumni Update: Former Maverick Hamilton Commits To D-1 Miami University

The United States Premier Hockey League congratulates former Columbus Mavericks (USPHL Premier) defenseman Jack Hamilton on making his NCAA Division I hockey commitment to Miami University, of Ohio, for the 2025-26 season. Hamilton is a 2006-born native of Powell, Ohio.

A former Culver Military Academy and Ohio Jr. Blue Jackets player, he joined the Mavericks in 2023-24 and put up six goals and one assist for seven points in eight games. During the spring, Hamilton was selected in the 13th round (189th overall) of the United States Hockey League Draft by the Tri-City Storm. He had also been drafted two years earlier in the USHL Futures Draft, in the third round/45th overall, by the Omaha Lancers.

This season, he is playing with the Tri-City Storm in the USHL and has played in 12 games.

Watch for an upcoming article where Hamilton gives his thoughts on his time in the USPHL and how his time in the league helped him to move onto the USHL and, ultimately, NCAA Division I hockey.
