The Tier 1 Hockey Federation to NCDC pipeline continues to provide outstanding opportunities for elite level Midget players to reach the National Collegiate Development Conference, with an opportunity to show their skill set to NCAA coaches. The NCDC saw 212 NCAA commitments, including 73 players – from the 2023-24 NCDC season and alumni – moving on to the NCAA Division I ranks in 2024-25 and future seasons.
The newest addition to an NCDC roster for the 2024-25 season is Mercer Chiefs player Filip Kacmarsky, a 2008-born native of Stara Lubovna, Czechia, who is being called up as an Affiliate player to the Chiefs NCDC roster for their Nov. 15 game against West Chester Wolves. Kacmarsky has 21 points in 13 THF 16U games and also has played in three 18U games, scoring a goal and two assists.
“Filip is a terrific hockey player and a lifelong Chief. He is an 0’8 who plays on our 16U team, and has played 3 games and scored 3 goals at U18. This is certainly our goal at the Chiefs, for high-end players to develop and to get the opportunity to move ‘up the ladder”’ with the Chiefs. The NCDC is a very high-end skill league, and one that certainly pushes getting high-end younger players to get the opportunity to play,” said Rob Broderick, GM and Head Coach of the Chiefs NCDC team.
There are 23 former THF 16U and 83 former THF 18U players currently playing in the NCDC during the 2024-25 season.
