NCDC Players Of The Week: New England Division

Forward: Braxton Powers, Islanders Hockey Club 

In his second Player of the Week nomination for December, Powers (‘04/Raleigh, N.C.) picked up three goals and five assists to continue a 13-game points streak that began on Oct. 26. He crossed the 100 career points mark in his last game played on Dec. 13, continuing to show his impact as the Islanders captain in his fourth NCDC season. 

 

Defense: Gregor Jennersjo, South Shore Kings 

November Player of the Month Jennersjo (‘04/Stockholm, Sweden) added four assists to increase his rookie season points tally to 22 and continue a seven game points streak he started on Nov. 16. He’s currently the second-highest points leader as a defenseman in the NCDC. 

 

Goaltender: Stephen Chen, Boston Jr. Rangers 

Chen (‘05/Beijing, China) made 24 saves on 24 shots for a shutout win against the Thunder Hockey Club. In his rookie season with the Boston Jr. Rangers, Chen has a .920 save percentage across 14 games played. 

 

Rookie: Lukas Saving, Northern Cyclones 

Saving (‘05/Stockholm, Sweden) added five points to his rookie season points tally, scoring two goals and posting three assists over three games this week. Over 23 games played in his first season, Saving has 16 total points. 

Selection Process: Team coaches first nominate players, the League sends back finalists, and coaches are then able to further vote on finalists or nominate other players.
