NCDC Players Of The Week: New England Division

Forward: Bryan Tang, Boston Jr. Rangers 

Tang (‘04/Hong Kong) helped the Boston Jr. Rangers continue a three-game win streak this week, scoring one goal and posting three assists. He is on an eight-game points streak that began on Nov. 23, with 22 points across 24 games played in his first NCDC season. The forward moved to the Jr. Rangers in November and has played 12 games with the team. 

 

Defense: Ricky Volpe, Utica Jr. Comets 

This week, Volpe (‘04/Commack, N.Y.) posted four points over three games for the Jr. Comets. The blueliner is in his third season with the NCDC and first with Utica, with 38 career points over 82 games. Volpe is the highest-scoring defenseman for the Jr. Comets this season.

 

Goaltender: Cole Scullion, Worcester Railers JHC 

Scullion (‘06/Burlington, Ont.) went 2-0 for the Railers this week, making 48 saves on 51 shots for a .941 save percentage and 1.50 goals against average. He is 10-7-0-1 in his first NCDC season, with one shutout and a .921 save percentage. 

 

Rookie: Stephen Chen, Boston Jr. Rangers 

Chen (‘05/Beijing) garnered a .923 save percentage on Dec. 19, making 36 saves on 39 shots, with three shootout saves for a 2.77 goals against average. The Jr. Rangers rookie has a .920 save percentage in 13 games.

Selection Process: Team coaches first nominate players, the League sends back finalists, and coaches are then able to further vote on finalists or nominate other players.
