Blazers blueliner Borschowa commits to University of Manitoba

Kamloops Blazers blueliner Samuel Borschowa has announced his commitment to the University of Manitoba for the 2025-26 season.

The 20-year-old is coming off his third WHL season, recording two goals and eight assists for 10 points in 57 contests.

He netted the game-winning strike in a 4-1 win over the visiting Wenatchee Wild on October 19, 2024.

Borschowa, from McTaggart, Sask., was originally signed by the Moose Jaw Warriors and played parts of two seasons in the Friendly City.

The 5-foot-11, 200-pound right-shot rearguard totalled three goals (including two game-winners) and 12 assists for 15 points in 116 WHL games, in addition to three playoff contests with the Warriors.

He previously suited up for the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League’s Notre Dame Hounds, recording two goals and seven assists for nine points in 35 games in 2022-23.

Borschowa also captured the SMAAAHL Championship in 2022 as a member of the Notre Dame Hounds U18AAA side.
