The Victoria Royals added veteran depth to the Club’s forward group Thursday morning, acquiring 2007-born centre Ashton Brown from the Regina Pats in exchange for a seventh-round pick in 2029.
Brown, a 5-foot-9, 178-pound product of Sherwood Park, Alta., split the 2024-25 WHL regular season between the Pats and Wenatchee Wild. In 60 games, he tallied 13 points (5G-8A).
Originally a fourth-round pick (88th overall) of the Winnipeg ICE in the 2022 WHL Prospects Draft, Brown has skated in 108 career WHL regular season outings, recording 19 points (7G-12A).
In one preseason game with the Pats, the right-shot centre is plus-2 with two shots on goal.
The Regina Pats (2-2-0-0) return to preseason action Thursday night at 7 p.m. MT, when they host the Prince Albert Raiders (1-1-1-1) at Westland Arena in Yorkton, Sask.
Preseason play continues for the Victoria Royals (0-1-1-0) on Friday at 7:05 p.m. PT when they take on the Everett Silvertips (1-1-1-1) at Kerry Park Recreation Centre in Mill Bay, B.C.
The 2025 WHL Preseason concludes Sunday, September 14, with the 2025-26 WHL Regular Season getting underway Friday, September 19.
