The 2026 OHL preseason officially got underway on Friday, with three games kicking off the exhibition schedule across the league.
Saginaw Spirit vs. Newfoundland Regiment (QMJHL)
Final: 4 (SAG) – 3 (NFLD)
The Spirit opened the preseason with a 4-3 win over the Regiment.
- Saginaw opened the 2026 OHL preseason with a cross-league matchup against the QMJHL’s Newfoundland Regiment
- Levi Harper (2G, 1A) and Dima Zhilkin (1G, 2A) each recorded three points in the victory
- Ryan Hanrahan added a goal and an assist
- San Jose Sharks prospect Brady Knowling made his Saginaw debut between the pipes
Peterborough Petes vs. Guelph Storm
Final: 3 (PBO) – 2 (GUE)
The Petes scored three unanswered to complete the comeback.
- Aiden Atkinson and Joshua Pagani found the back of the net to give Guelph an early 2-0 lead
- Peterborough first-round pick Landon Roulston (13th overall) recorded a goal and an assist in his OHL preseason debut
- Pacey Adduono also recorded two points with a goal and an assist
- Colton Lapierre rounded out the scoring for the Petes
Erie Otters vs. London Knights
Final: 5 (LDN) – 1 (ER)
Three third-period goals lifted the Knights past the Otters.
- Four Knights recorded multi-point performances: Kane Barch (1G, 1A), Thomas Zocco (1G, 1A), Geno Carcone (1G, 1A) and Philadelphia Flyers first-rounder Maksim Sokolovskii (2A)
- Luca Santala and Ottawa Senators first-rounder Jaxon Cover also found the back of the net for London
- Knights 2026 first-round selection Ryan Beaulieu (14th overall) recorded his first preseason point with an assist
- Ulysses Lombardi scored Erie’s lone goal
