The Death Pool – Drug Use And A Call For Mandatory Testing

Guess what kids, playing hockey is a privilege and not a right.  That’s right boys and girls it shouldn’t matter if you pay to play, play for free, or get paid to play.  There is no room for drugs, illegal or abuse of legal drugs in this game!

It wasn’t too long ago TJHN published this story on a couple of bone heads on the Illiana Blackbirds junior hockey team.  Two Junior Hockey Players Arrested For Heroin Possession – Death Pool Special Dope Report

It was also just over a month ago Terry Trafford passed away in part related to him being alleged to have been caught using marijuana.  Saginaw Spirit’s Terry Trafford Missing

Now out latest poster child idiot is none other than Ryan Malone from the NHL’s Tampa Bay Lightning.

According to a Hillsborough County Sheriff’s report, Malone, 34, was arrested by Tampa police at 5:40 Saturday morning on Platt Street and Rome Avenue S. and charged with driving under the influence and cocaine possession.

Police say Malone refused a field sobriety test. While in custody, Malone allegedly submitted a breath test, giving blood alcohol levels of .112 and .116. Florida law considers a driver impaired at .08.

While making the DUI arrest, police discovered 1.3 grams of cocaine in Malone’s rear pocket. Malone was being held on $2,500 bond.

Now that kids is how you do a bang up job on a bang up career.

So we got three stories, one marijuana, one heroin, and one cocaine.  All we’re missing here kids is a little old methamphetamine made in someone’s toilet!

Anyone want to say drug use isn’t a problem in hockey?

What’s the problem with everyone having to give a sample before they get on the ice?  Who cares about random, lets do it every night to every player.  Good luck trying to keep your system clean on a daily basis if your using boys.

But hey, at least Malone is alleged to have been caught with a performance enhancing upper.  Maybe it was his first time, maybe it wasn’t his, maybe he didn’t even try it.  You would think if he were on it or a regular user that he might have been a little quicker on his feet this season.

Ohhhhhh snnnnnaaaaaaapppppp…….This might explain why Malone always wanted to do line drills at practice!

Its time to get the drugs and the drug users out of the game for good.
