Ryan Lomberg Pleads Guilty To Disorderly Conduct – Assault Charge Dismissed

Suspended University of Maine Hockey Player Ryan Lomberg, plead guilty on Monday to a disorderly conduct charge in a plea agreement with the district attorney’s office.

Ryan Lomberg, 19, of Richmond Hill, Ontario, Canada, did not appear in court. His attorney, entered the plea in connection with an April 26 off campus incident on his behalf.

In exchange for his guilty plea, the other assault charge will be dismissed.  Lomberg will pay a $1,000 fine. He has paid $252.62 in restitution to pay the victim’s medical expenses not covered by insurance.

Lomberg was suspended from the team and other UMaine activities in May after the charges were filed.

It is believed that Lomberg will now report to the USHL’s Lincoln Stars and play this season while looking to commit to another NCAA program for the 2015-2016 season.  It is doubtful that Lomberg will receive another Division One opportunity before playing another year of junior because he would be forced to sit out this season under NCAA rules.

TJHN will update this story when more information becomes available.
