When business is good, holy crap kids, business is real good. I had to ask the local funeral parlor if I could get a volume discount or some sort of frequent flier miles! Ha Ha Ha
So yeah, another team is in the morgue today. Well it officially happened last week, but we had to wait for the autopsy results to come back before were could disclose the cause of death. And the cause of death is…… yeah you guessed it, a failure on so many fronts that it equaled total organ failure.
Please say a prayer for the Minnesota Junior Hockey League’s Crystal Lake Rampage. Formerly known as the Wisconsin Rampage they were moved to Crystal Lake Illinois this summer. Well they attempted to move there in the spring but the Amateur Hockey Association of Illinois made it next to impossible for them to move and put restrictions on recruiting once the move was approved that they knew the team would likely fail.
Yeah, Crystal Lake couldn’t even begin recruiting until late summer. Thanks AHAI, bang up job boys. Way to help kill off a junior team in order to protect High School programs.
Then again, the team didn’t have any billets for out of town players either, so, they were doomed from the outset.
Just two seasons ago, the Rampage won the MNJHL Central Division title. Just two years ago they were facing off with the Northern Lights for the right to represent the MNJHL at the USA Hockey Tier III National Championships. HMMMMMMM
Oh snap, that’s right, the Northern Lights are gone now too. I mean really, how the hell does this happen to two teams who were championship quality just two seasons ago?
Oh well, as the old song goes, let the bodies hit the floor. Look for more special reports kids, we aren’t even close to being done!
