The Death Pool – Special Report – New Ownership In Muskegon? More Changes Coming!

Ohhhhhh snap.  Here we go kids.  It was just a week or so ago, TJHN reported that the Muskegon Lumberjacks Ownership had filed for Bankruptcy in New York.  Yep, wasn’t exactly taken too well that we actually reported the story but hey its news right.

So, at the same time I, yeah, that’s right, me, reported that the team was secretly being shopped to potential new owners.

Ohhhhhhh, damn, don’t let me forget that some local Muskegon reporter followed up my report with his “tow the line” sunshine up your ass report that the bankruptcy wouldn’t have any effect on the Lumberjacks.  What a hack!  Next time do some digging and don’t just call the GM.

So yeah, looks like that sale is gonna happen, or at least they are going to try to make it happen.  But hey, selling the team to a new owner doesn’t effect the Lumberjacks right?!

Yep, sources are saying the new owner or owners to be are out of the Detroit area.  No one has named the person though.  Some big secret I guess.  Almost two years to the day that the Lumberjacks were officially sold, boom, they get sold again.

But yeah so, the hold up is the new owner, or potential owner is trying to get a new lease done.  Why a new lease you ask?  Well, the Lumberjacks wont be running LC Walker Arena any more.  Yep, the City is taking over management of the arena within the next few weeks.

See, the Lumberjacks only have a year left on the lease, and now since they wont be running the arena, they are just going to be rent paying tenants.

Seems like a few people in the City weren’t too happy when they found out that Lumberjacks playoff games that could have been played on Friday nights were pushed off to Sunday nights to give the players an extra day off.  That extra day off though cost the city, and local businesses a lot of money in lost revenues.  Not exactly what sponsors want to hear when the idea is to grow business down town.

So yeah, you might be wondering what happens if no lease extension is done right?  Ummmmmm yeah, well I got no answer for ya kids.

But hey, the Lumberjacks will be back for 2015-2016, and it looks like the City is already putting together a plan that includes a bunch of new events and tenants that mysteriously appeared this spring.  Crazy how that happens isn’t it?

See ya next week kids, and try not to blow off any extremities during Canada Day or the 4th of July celebrations.
