LC Walker Arena What Was Old Is New Again – Tim Taylor At The Helm

LC Walker Arena, and the City of Muskegon had been at a crossroads.  The home of the Muskegon Lumberjacks future was in doubt, and the community had begun to question its viability.  That is no longer the case.

Returning to what he has called his “second home”, is Tim Taylor.

Seen by many in hockey circles as the man who has saved hockey in Muskegon more than once has been named the new CEO of LC Walker Arena.

Taylor, once on the fast track to the NHL as the General Manager of the AHL’s Quad City Flames, returned to Muskegon with one purpose.  That was to save hockey.  From the IHL to the USHL, Taylor not only steered the ship, but kept it afloat with his community relationships.

After the Lumberjacks did not renew his contract as team President, Taylor had left for a new field of work.  Saying that he had put hockey behind him, while never fully leaving the game.

Its hard to replace expertise.  Some people have it, some people claim to have it, and then some people just show it.  Taylor is one who, even after leaving, was always there for anyone in the business who had a question.  This coming from NHL people, all the way to family advisers.  The phone always rang and he always answered.

One phone call that came was from the City of Muskegon, and once again he answered.  The call and the request made was one that now brings Taylor back to his “second home”.

Taking over management of LC Walker Arena, Tim Taylor is already booking more events that will not only keep the arena busy, but keep down town Muskegon hotels filled and restaurants busy.

The economic impact of new events, and the expansion of returning events is just what the City of Muskegon had in mind.

Will Tim Taylor immediately cure all that ails LC Walker Arena?  Not immediately, but it is certainly a step in the right direction, and when taking steps, Taylor only knows how to take them forward.
