Tim Doherty Leaves Brown For USPHL’s Boston Junior Bruins

Tim Doherty committed to Brown University as an 18year old in November of 2013 after an all star season for St. Georges Prep School and lighting up the USPHL as a rookie.  Less than two years later, Doherty is on his way back to the Boston Junior Bruins in the USPHL where he spent the last two seasons.

The ’95 left wing had 28 goals and 34 assists in 46 games last season with the Junior Bruins, to go along with 15 goals and 18 assists in 40 games the season before.

Doherty is a well balanced offensive minded forward, points have never been hard to come by as he has been better than a point per game producer for the last 4 seasons.

The question now is why?  Why would Doherty leave Brown University after enrolling, attending class and participating in team practices.  Its doubtful we will ever learn since Brown is only scheduled to begin its season tomorrow.

Doherty is expected to be dressed when the Bruins play in the Beantown Fall Classic at the New England Sports Center in Marlboro this weekend. He has been removed from the hockey roster on the official Brown University Hockey website.
