Muskegon Lumberjacks – Tim Taylor Back At The Helm

It has only been a year or so since Tim Taylor walked away from the Muskegon Lumberjacks in a very quiet non public way.

The former ownership group thought they could continue to move the USHL franchise forward without the person who brought the USHL to Muskegon in the first place.  They thought they could move forward without the person that a great majority of hockey fans in Muskegon consider the person who saved hockey in Muskegon not once, but twice.

Muskegon hockey fans are glad new Lumberjacks Owner Dan Israel is not afraid to makes changes,

Last September, Tim Taylor took over as LC Walker Arena CEO for the City of Muskegon.  Booking more events, and coming up with plans to make the building profitable over the coming years.

Now, returning to his position as President of the Lumberjacks, while maintaining his LC Walker position, Taylor will look to revitalize the local hockey fan base.  That fan base that has in the past come out to support its local team has tailed off a bit in recent years.

Tim Taylor wasted no time in securing the Pre Draft Combine in September for the next three years for LC Walker Arena, and he has continued to expand those bookings.

If history can be a guide toward future results, the Muskegon Lumberjacks should see ticket and corporate sales get a lift simply by bringing back the person everyone in Muskegon knows.  The person everyone has always trusted.  The home town kid who gave up a fast track to the NHL front offices to save hockey in Muskegon.

While the Lumberjacks have made a lot of trades over the last few seasons, and went on a great run to the finals last year.  The signing of Tim Taylor is the best free agent deal the league has seen in years.
