Let us say goodbye to the short lived C1HL. Dead before it ever really started. But the why of how it died is the best part of this story. Seriously, this could be the greatest example of how a bunch of amateurs shit the bed with a great idea in hockey history.
The name……seriously what ass clown came up with this rip off the failed Central Hockey League? Just stupid. But it gets better than that…..
The recently hired, but not yet announced Commissioner of the C1HL was going to be none other than Rick Kozuback! If that name sounds familiar its because he was the CEO of the Central Hockey League when it blew up. Yep, nothing like repeating the past, because it worked so well.
Lets not forget the “owners” of the teams though. Oh yeah, a cluster F#$& of disorganization. Missed meetings, not attending conference calls, “forgetting” to file the corporate documents, and not cashing the start up checks because they don’t have the corporate docs or a bank account.
Yep, six months worth of “start up” work and nothing accomplished. Competent owners? Not really.
Casper? No money to go. A pipe dream.
Ft. Collins seating for 200 is enough for a big dinner not enough for free to play hockey.
El Paso? Yeah, probably one team that could have pulled it off, but decided against it when partners looked incompetent.
Oklahoma City? As soon as WSHL league gripes were made public it was all over.
Springfield? The stories coming out of Springfield are probably better suited for a new version of 50 shades of grey.
Ohhhhhhh shit. Most of you didn’t know, but the Utah Outliers got into this shit show too. Yep, “ownership and management” there talked a big game but couldn’t pull off a mite tournament let alone a free to play team.
Now here is the best part. These guys didn’t pay their bills either. Sign an agreement, promise to pay, and then simply tell the vendor to screw off and not pay it. This has all the markings of a successful organization doesn’t it?
So the C1HL and all its bullshit about developing players for the ECHL, or SPHL is dead. Cities have dropped out, and owners have shown their asses to the world. Another mess of letters to add to the shit pile.
On a positive note, I got approval for the next Black List! Stick around this week everyone because we got some bad operators to expose and for you to avoid.
