Saskatoon, Sask.- Saskatoon Blades alternate captain Tyler Parr has announced his commitment to Union College.
The 20-year-old will join the Garnet Chargers for the 2026-27 season following his final year of WHL eligibility.
“I’m excited and proud to announce my commitment to Union College for 2026-27,” Parr said. “I’d like to thank the entire Saskatoon Blades organization, including my teammates, coaches, fans, and everyone else along the way for shaping me into the person and hockey player I am today. I am fortunate to have this opportunity following my WHL career, and I owe it to the people that have supported me throughout.”
Parr is in the midst of a breakout season that has seen him take over the Blades scoring lead.
The La Salle, Man. product has a career-best 18 goals and 34 assist for 52 points in 53 contests, highlighted by two overtime winners and a four-point (1G-3A) outing against the Swift Current Broncos on September 21.

Saskatoon selected the 5-foot-11, 192-pound winger in the third round of the 2020 WHL Prospects Draft.
He’s spent his entire WHL career in the Bridge City, piling up 108 points (36G-72A) in 204 regular season games over parts of four seasons.
Parr only missed two games in Saskatoon’s historic 2023-24 season, which saw the Blades post its first 50-win season in more than a decade and clinch the Scotty Munro Memorial Trophy as regular season champions.
Parr picked up another goal and assist in eight playoff matches as the Blades reached Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Championship.
He was named the Blades’ alternate captain on October 1, 2025.
Saskatoon (30-18-3-4) is 7-2-0-1 in its last 10 games to stay in the hunt for the East Division lead.
The Blades return to the ice on Tuesday, February 25 to host the Lethbridge Hurricanes (35-19-2-1).
