Blizzard forward Cavallini makes NCAA DI commitment

The Brookings Blizzard, proud members of the North American Hockey League (NAHL), are proud to announce that forward Aidan Cavallini has committed to play NCAA Division I hockey at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. The Badgers will participate in the inaugural season of the Big Ten Conference in 2013-2014.

Cavallini has played in 30 games for the Blizzard this season with 11 goals and 10 assists, including a hat trick in a game against Aberdeen on December 29th.

“What an unbelievable opportunity for a hard working player like Aidan,” said Blizzard head coach Cory Laylin. “His style of play will translate well at the next level. He has a strong body and a gritty attitude.”

“To be able to play at such a prestigious school like Wisconsin is great for Aidan, for our team, and the league,” added Laylin. “He is going to learn from some of the best college coaches in the country and play in one of the best hockey arenas in the Kohl Center.”

Cavallini also participated as a part of the Dakota team in the 2013 NAHL Top Prospects Tournament held in Troy, Michigan last month.

He is the third Blizzard player to make a NCAA Division I commitment this season.
