The NCDC congratulates former Jersey Hitmen forward Steven Townley, who helped the Hitmen win the 2021 Dineen Cup Championship. Townley scored 41 points in 45 games in 2020-21, and then added four points in four playoff games en route to lifting the Dineen Cup.

Townley came to the Hitmen as a committed player to Dartmouth College, which he joined right after his time with the Hitmen ended. He has played in 83 games over three seasons, registering 15 points.

Townley, who grew up attending Dartmouth games while living in nearby Quechee, Vt., also played for the CP Dynamo in the USPHL 18U Division, scoring 26 points in 28 games at that level.

From the Dartmouth College Website:

Townley, no stranger to academic recognition, was named to the Academic All-Ivy Team after excelling in the classroom on the ice. Recently named as a nominee for the ECAC Hockey Scholar-Athlete of the Year award, Townley skated in all 10 Ivy League games this season, registering an assist in the 5-3 win over the Bulldogs in the regular season finale.

Big Green take on the Union Garnet Chargers this weekend in the ECAC Hockey quarterfinals. Games one and two are scheduled for 7 p.m. on Friday and Saturday with an if-needed game three on Sunday at 4 p.m. The entire quarterfinal series will be available to stream on ESPN+ and Stretch Internet.
