East Coast Junior Hockey Update – Metropolitan Junior Hockey League

As TJHN reported on May 16th, in the article  The New Look Of Junior Hockey On the East Coast – All Team To League Transfers things are falling into place as planned.

On Sunday May 19th, a conference call took place making some changes official.  As reported the following nine teams were official added to the Metropolitan Junior Hockey League by unanimous approval:

New Teams
Boston Bandits -Move from Empire
Brewster Bulldogs – move from ESHL
CT Oilers -Move from Empire
Frederick Freeze – From Empire
Jersey Wildcats – From Empire
New Hampshire Jr Monarchs
New York Apple Core – Move from ESHL
Philadelphia Revolution -Move from ESHL
Valley Jr Warrios -Move from Empire

The agreements proposed by USA Hockey to settle and clarify the junior hockey league structures on the east coast appear to be moving forward.

New MJHL members will now be submitting all of their appropriate membership documents to the league, so that the MJHL may submit their recertification package to USA Hockey.

TJHN has also learned that another meeting of the now 28 member league is scheduled for May 29th.  The Metropolitan Junior Hockey League is now the largest USA Hockey sanctioned Tier III junior hockey league in the United States.

Sources are informing TJHN that this agreement may be the final agreement needed to wrap up all other league negotiations taking place with the USPHL, EJHL, AJHL and Empire Junior Hockey Leagues.

TJHN will update this story as more information becomes available.
