Everything Begins And Ends With Scouting – HTM Covers The Globe

A lot of people ask us how we learn so much about players, and how we see so many players every year. There is only one answer that can be given. Scouting is about travel and spending the time in the arenas hundreds of days out of each year.

There simply is no substitute for being in the ice arenas nearly every day, watching players live, and connecting with coaches who are dveloping those players.

This weekend was the start of the 2024-2025 season scouting schedule for Devin Panzeca, Vice President of Hockey Talent Management. And it began in Helsinki Finland with the prestigious Lions Cup showcase.

“We have a very busy season ahead of us. Everyone we have on our HTM team will be out covering games and showcase events around the world every week.” Said Devin Panzeca “Getting eyes on players in person is what makes the service we provide valuable to teams around the world when it comes to recruiting and filling their rosters every season.”

Hockey Talent Management has become the gold standard for player placement and adviser services over the course of thirty years. Much of that time has been spent in airplanes, hotel rooms and ice arenas aroung the world.

“When players and parents look at our company for adviser services, they are really looking for the ability to move up based upon our expertise and the relationships we have as a group that have been built over time. Ask any coach in the world, and they will tell you they work with people they know and trust. Thats the HTM way. We do not make promises we cannot keep.”

During the 2024-2025 season, HTM has estimated that our team members will log close to two hundred thousand air miles, one hundred and ninety, hotel nights, and more than eight hundred games watched live. This does not include all the games watched online.

Scouting is the beginning and the end of everything when it comes to upward movement. If you’re not getting seen in person, its unlikely you will move up next year. HTM team members fill that scouting role for many teams around the world who do not have the time or budgets to have eyes in the arenas around the world.

“As advisers, we fill a dual role in not just helping the player, but helping teams find the right players to build their rosters. Teams trust us to deliver the players they need to fill certain roles, and families trust us to put their children into roles that will utilize their talents most effectively to move them to the next level.”

With clients playing in nine European countries as well as the United States and Canada, HTM covers the world. When you’re ready to get to your next level, HTM is ready to assist you.
