FIGHTING FALCONS TENDER DEFENSEMAN JOEY LINDBERG

The Port Huron Fighting Falcons, proud members of the North American Hockey League, today announced the signing of right-handed defenseman Joey Lindberg to a tender for the 2013-2014 season. The tender agreement gives Port Huron Lindberg’s playing rights within the NAHL for next season.

A native of Woodbury, MN, Lindberg has notched four assists in ten games this season with the Rocky Mountain RoughRiders U18 team , a member of the Tier 1 Elite League. Lindberg’s RoughRiders teammate Thomas Jarmin, a forward, signed a tender with the Fighting Falcons earlier this season.

“Joey is a mobile defenseman who we will be looking to help us next year on our power-play,” said Fighting Falcons Head Coach and General Manager Michael Gershon. “His ability to handle the puck in tight spots but also be able to make the simple first pass was what really drew us to him. He will be counted on to step right in and handle the rigors of the NAHL.”

As a 1994 birth year, Lindberg has two seasons of junior eligibility remaining.

The Fighting Falcons return to action Wednesday night, when they take on the Michigan Warriors at 7:05 at McMorran Arena. The team will hold auctions for a date with a Fighting Falcons player during the game. All tickets are just $7 at the McMorran Arena Box Office.
