Jamestown downs Soo, 5-2

The Jamestown Ironmen took home the win against the Soo Eagles, 5-2.

 

The win by Jamestown clinched the best of five series at 3-0.

The Ironmen forced Soo goalie Tyler Marble to work between the pipes, taking 36 shots.

Jamestown was helped by Evan Ritt, who registered one goal and one assist. Ritt scored 5:59 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Jamestown. Luc Gerdes picked up the assist. Jamestown additionally got points from Daniel Cesarz, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Huba Sekesi also scored for Jamestown. Other players who recorded assists for Jamestown were Tyler Dunagan, who had one.

The Eagles were helped by Alexander Taulien, who racked up one goal. Taulien scored 1:25 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Jamestown. Chris Waterstreet provided the assist. Soo also got a goal from Dante Suffredini as well. More assists for Soo came via Brandon Adams and Jared VanWormer, who each chipped in one.

Joe Ballmer rejected 24 shots on goal for the Ironmen. Jamestown incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Marble recorded 31 saves for Soo. The Eagles incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
