Letter from the Publisher May 30, 2012 12:40 PM

Dear TJHN Readers,

After receiving many phone calls from readers I reluctantly write this letter today.

Junior Hockey is, and always has been about developing young men as players and more importantly as people. Covering stories that effect these young men in a responsible manner is what TJHN is designed to do. In that regard we research sources, organizations, other publications, and archived information in order to present fair and balanced coverage.

TJHN is not published to compete with any other news site, nor is it published for profit. We do not charge for advertising, and because of this we do not color our stories in any way other than how we feel best serves the game.

In that vain of operation, TJHN has not, nor will it participate in personal attacks on any person or organization. Opinion articles may be written from time to time, but even those articles will be as balanced as possible.

While it would be easy to publish information that would be controversial and gain TJHN more viewers, we will not do so.

TJHN readers can always count on us to recognize that gathering and reporting information may cause harm or discomfort. That harm will always be taken into consideration when reporting on people and organizations, and we shall seek to minimize harm or discomfort at all times. TJHN will not display arrogance in its reporting of the news.

TJHN recognizes that private people have a greater right to control information about themselves than do public officials and others who seek power, influence or attention. For that reason we will refrain from directly criticizing any other publication or those people who may work for, write or publish any other publication.

TJHN will always act in good taste and will avoid pandering to lurid and salacious curiosity.

TJHN will always try to avoid conflicts of interest, real or perceived.

TJHN will refuse gifts, favors, fees, free travel, special treatment, and shun secondary employment, political involvement, public office and service in community organizations if they compromise integrity when reporting.

While we can only control how we report the news, and can only hope other news publications will exhibit similar examples of self control. Unfortunately though, the world is an imperfect place.

For those who would like to speak personally please feel free to email [email protected]

Sincerely,

Joseph Kolodziej
