MNJHL Coaching Position Available

POSITION – HEAD COACH

The Central Wisconsin Saints are a Tier III Junior Team in the Minnesota Junior Hockey League

RESPONSIBILITIES

Player Development and Mentoring

 Planning, organizing and conducting meaningful practices

 Supporting a comprehensive conditioning program

 Developing and maintaining a comprehensive recruiting program

 Designing game plans (scouting and analyzing opponents)

 Supervising and supporting the assistant coaching staff

 Representing the team management on travel series

 Working with in a budget

 Participating in public relations and fund raising events, public speaking and public appearances, radio, television, and press interviews as needed

 Reports to the General Manager

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Record of successful Hockey coaching experience

 Demonstrated success in recruiting, retaining, and advancing athletes

 USA Hockey Level 4 Certified, or on track to advance one level per year

 Registered in USA Hockey (have a valid USA Hockey number)

 

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL:

 Have excellent communications skills, be a positive motivator.

 Have demonstrated leadership & organizational abilities, and be able to clearly articulate a coherent plan and vision to build and enhance the program.

 Have impeccable integrity with a thorough commitment to the USA Hockey, MnJHL and Saints regulations and codes of conduct.

 Be self-motivated, make sound judgments, and be able to relate to and have a high interest in young people

 Have an ability to counsel and positively motivate student-athletes for success at this level.

CONTRACT:

Multiple year contract preferred. This position could be considered part time. The position allows the coach to work another job as long as they are available for all practices and games. Extracurricular team activities and events can be scheduled around a work schedule. The team practice and game schedule is finalized by August, allowing to coach to make other work arrangements around the hockey schedule if necessary.

 

SALARY:

Negotiable, and competitive depending upon experience and qualifications

Evaluation of applications will begin immediately and continue until a suitable applicant is hired. The selected coach will need to begin recruiting activities immediately and the first team camp is scheduled for late July. The final team tryout and reporting date is 8/24/2013.
