NA3HL Franchise Update

Once again the rumor mill concerning junior hockey has put some very inaccurate information out to players and parents.  Sources have provided information to TJHN in the hope of setting the record straight.

The NA3HL recently completed their annual meeting and the season schedule is complete with all but a few tweeks here and there.

With the addition of the Chicago Bulldogs, the NA3HL will take the ice with 18 teams in the 2013-2014 season.  Yes, 18 teams.  There have been no franchises that have folded or saught dormancy.

Rumors of the Battle Creek Revolution going dark are completely untrue.  The Revolution are currently working on a new website design that should be completed shortly.  Head Coach Rod Davidson has been out scouting and recruiting at various showcases and NAHL camps this spring.  The only change with the Revolution is that Nick Poe is no longer involved with the organization after tendering his resignation.

The sale and move to Fort Wayne Indiana of the Flint Jr. Generals is not going to take place.  Agreements could not be reached to sell or move the franchise.  They will be back for another year in a long tradition of Tier III hockey in Flint.

The Michigan Mountain Cats who were also rumored to have folded or saught dormancy are also coming back.  There was never a thought of folding according to several sources.  While experiencing some difficulty with arena leases last year, the Mountian Cats are in good standing with the league and look to get back to work this season.

While franchises rumored for St. Ignace and Traverse City Michigan appear to be unlikely this season, sources have indicated that those locations are still NA3HL targets.
