Port Huron 2 @ Soo 3 – Eric Rivard scored twice and Tyler Marble made 52 saves as the Eagles edged the Fighting Falcons, 3-2. Rivard started the scoring less than five minutes into the 1st period and Robin Hoglund added to the lead with a goal late in the period to make it 2-0. Port Huron closed the gap to within one as Brett D’Andrea scored the lone goal of the 2nd period. Rivard then increased the lead back to two as he scored a shorthanded goal early in the 3rd period. Mick Bruce scored the second Port Huron goal midway through the 3rd period, but Port Huron could not find the equalizer. Boxscore
Wenatchee 3 @ Johnstown 1 – Robert Nichols made 22 saves including 12 in the 3rd period to help Wenatchee to their sixth straight win as they defeated Johnstown, 3-1. Nichols is now tied for the league lead with 28 wins. Trace Redmond and Jacob Barber scored in the 1st period to spot the Wild a 2-0 lead. Mitch Hall answered back for the Ironmen with a shorthanded goal in the 2nd period, but Joe Sullivan scored later in the period to increase the Wenatchee lead back to two where it finished. Boxscore
Springfield 4 @ Michigan 3 (SO) – 17-year-old Stefanos Lekkas made 32 saves in his NAHL debut as the Jr. Blues came from behind to defeat the Michigan Warriors 4-3 in a shootout. The Warriors led 2-0 early in the 2nd period on goals from Shawn Badali and Brad Pizzey. Springfield clawed back with goals from Mike Severson and Jack Sloan to tie the game at 2-2. AJ Marcinek scored on the power play to make it 3-2 Michigan, then Springfield’s Ryan Atkinson tied the game at 3-3 late in the 3rd period. Lekkas stopped all four Warriors shooters in the shootout win. Boxscore
Texas 2 @ Amarillo 3 – Amarillo handed Texas their fifth straight loss as Blake Roubos scored the game-winning goal with less than two minutes in regulation for the win. Texas got on the board first as Brandon Hawkins lit the lamp for his league-leading 32nd goal of the year. Amarillo struck back twice to take the lead in the 2nd period as Gage Christianson and Brady Ferguson scored. CJ Reuschlein scored to tie the game at 2-2 early in the 3rd period, but Roubos scored the game winner with just 1:44 left in the 3rd period. Boxscore
Topeka 3 @ Wichita Falls 2 – The RoadRunners crept to within a point of 2nd place in the South Division with a 3-2 win in Wichita Falls on Friday night. Things looked good early for the ‘Runners as NAHL points leader Sean Gaffney lit the lamp twice, one late in the 1st period and the other early in the 2nd period. Both goals were assisted by Kyle Sharkey. Eliot Grauer and Rudy Junda scored to tie the game at 2-2 early in the 3rd period, but a goal from Topeka’s Tyler Andrew late in the 3rd period proved to be the difference. Boxscore
Brookings 2 @ Coulee Region 5 – Mac Jansen scored twice and had an assist and Cory Lushanko had three assists to lead Coulee Region to a 5-2 win at home over the Blizzard. The Chill took a 3-0 lead in the 1st period on goals from Andy Faust, Garrett Hendrickson and Jansen. After Conor Andrle scored to make it 3-1, Hendrickson added his second of the night to make it 4-1. Nick DeCenzo scored to make it 4-2 early in the 3rd period, but Jansen’s second of the night put the game on ice. Tim Shaughnessy made 44 saves in the win. Boxscore
Minot 3 @ Austin 2 (SO) – In a potential Central Division playoff preview, the Minot Minotauros came back from a 2-0 deficit to win the game in a shootout over the Bruins, 3-2. Things were looking good for the Bruins early as a 1st period tally from Josh Bretner and a 2nd period goal from Cody Dixon gave the Bruins a 2-0 lead. Minot came back with goals from Jadin Martin in the 2nd period and Jake McCann in the 3rd period, before goalie Tyler Parks shut the door in the shootout, stopping all four Austin shooters as Mason Morelli and Steven Sherman scored for Minot. Aberdeen 0 @ Bismarck 3 – Bobcats goaltender Aaron Nelson posted his fourth shutout of the season as he made 29 saves in Bismarck’s 3-0 shutout of Aberdeen. Although Bismarck took a 1-0 lead late in the 1st period on a goal from Matt Pohlkamp, the game was still in the balance until early in the 3rd period when Matt Anders scored to make it 2-0. Cory Chapman added a late power play goal for a multi-point night to make it a 3-0 final. Wings goalie Chad Catt made 36 saves in the loss. Boxscore
Kenai River 1 @ Fairbanks 6 – The Fairbanks Ice Dogs erupted for six goals in the 2nd and 3rd periods to defeat the Brown Bears in front of another sold out crowd in Fairbanks. After Chris Nuth had given the Brown Bears a 1-0 lead after the 1st period, the Ice Dogs scored three goals in the 2nd period from Garret Clemment, Ben Campbell and Curran Klein. Three more goals were scored off Ice Dogs sticks in the 3rd period including goals from Jakob Romo, Taylor Munson and Colton Wolter. Boxscore
Fresno 0 @ Jamestown 6 – It was another big night for Ironmen forward Tyler Dunagan who scored two more goals to add to his weekend total of five as Jamestown shutout the Fresno Monsters, 6-0. Blake Wojtala stopped all 28 shots for his second shutout of the season. The Ironmen scored two goals in each period. Dunagan and Ryan Doucet scored in the 1st period, Michael Mazzotta and Nathan Ropelewski scored in the 2nd period and Dunagan and Doucet both scored again in the 3rd period. Boxscore
