Through a lot of hard work and determination over the past two years with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Knights, defenseman Kaleb MacAulay is excited to announce his NCAA Division III commitment to Keene State College for their inaugural NCAA season in 2025-26.
MacAulay, a native of Owings, Md., was with the Knights briefly during the 2023-24 season, playing in seven games. He stayed on board with them for the 2024-25 season. In 50 regular season games, MacAulay tallied six points and was a key defenseman.
“I have nothing but good things to say about the WBS organization as they have treated me well,” said MacAulay. “I decided to sign this year with WBS because I was familiar with the coaching staff.”
Shortly after the Hitmen Showcase in October, MacAulay began talking with the coaching staff at Keene State and everything fell into place from there.
“The Keene coaches liked how I am a good skating defensive defenseman who plays simple, and the right way,” said MacAulay.
MacAulay loved the campus and everything it has to offer. He knew the hockey aspect would be great and academically he could get a good education.
“I was most interested in Keene’s atmosphere and their uniforms,” said MacAuley. “On the academic side, I was interested in how they have some great business programs. I really enjoyed visiting the campus. Every building looked brand new and everything was so easily accessible, it would be hard to not like it.”
Now that his season with the WBS Knights has come to a close, MacAuley is focused on getting better in the off-season.
“I am continuing to work on my offensive side of the game to be able to make better plays for next season at Keene,” said MacAuley.
The NCDC congratulates Kaleb MacAulay, his family, the Wilkes-Barre Scranton Knights and Keene State College for his commitment.
