NCDC Expanding To Alberta And Possibly British Columbia – TJHN Exclusive

TJHN has learned that the NCDC is looking to expand into Alberta Canada and possibly British Columbia for the 2025-2026 season.

Multiple sources within the NCDC and USPHL have confirmed that no less than five applications for membership have already been received by the league.

Speaking under the condition of anonymity one NCDC source said;

“We are very excited about the opportunity to bring our brand to Alberta and possibly British Columbia. With the changing environment of junior hockey we feel that we offer opportunity to those owners who are interested in making a change or those that have been left out of other leagues due to red tape or territory rights.”

The NCDC offers real change for teams, and those who would be interested in joining. The ability to recruit players from North America and Europe is one such change that new ownership groups have expressed interest in.

Europe is a wide open recruiting ground for operators who have not had that opportunity, and the Tier 2 NCDC model fits what the top European players are used to.

Given the NCDC record of developing players for NCAA Division One and Three, its well known and well scouted showcase events throughout North America, the league represents a way forward in a time where others are uncertain.

One of the ownership applicants had this to say;

“The leadership group in the NCDC and USPHL have been supportive, and very giving of their time and assistance as we go through the process. Our ownership group, and arena are prepared to hit the ground running as we turn the page to 2025. We are already working on camps in the United States and Canada, and have connected with the right people who have eyes in Europe.”
