Samuel Lussier (’07/St-Michel, Que.) scored two goals, and Ricky Volpe (’04/Commack, N.Y.) had a 1-2-3 line for the Jr. Comets, winners of four straight. Niko Benjamin (’04/Surprise, Ariz.) and Daniel Urban (’04/Orchard Park, N.Y.) each had two assists. Goaltender Dylan Eliason (’04/Northville, Mich.) stopped 35 of 37 shots.
West Chester Wolves 5, Rockets Hockey Club 4
The Wolves picked up a key victory at the Revolution Ice Gardens in Warminster, Pa., during the THF Philadelphia Showcase. Emil Szepezi (’06/Timra, Sweden) put up two goals and two assists, and Brayden Sprickman (’05/Erie, Pa.) enjoyed a 1-3-4 line in the win. Griffin Davis. (’05/Nashua, N.H.)
Boston Jr. Rangers 5, Thunder Hockey Club 0
The Rangers saw Stephen Chen (’05/Beijing, China) made 24 saves to close up the shutout against the Thunder. Bryan Tang (’04/Hong Kong) scored twice, and Jake Russell (’04/Arlington, Mass.) put up a goal and an assist. Mathieu Fournier (’04/Quebec City, Que.) also chipped in as well.
Connecticut Jr. Rangers 3, Mercer Chiefs 0
Jan Lokajicekk (’04/Czechia) earned his first NCDC shutout by stopping all 40 shots he faced from the Mercer Chiefs. Veteran Ranger Alexander Ondos (’04/Pittsburgh, Pa.) scored a goal and added two assists, and Richard Durina (’05/Dubnica nad Vahom, Slovakia) racked up two assists in the win.
Rock Springs Grizzlies 5, Casper Warbirds 2
The Grizzlies got two goals and one assist from Keenan Rosas (’05/Christiana, Tenn.) , and three additional players had a goal and an assist, including Greyson Settipane (’05/Buffalo, N.Y.), Kristof Molnar (’05/Kolarovo, Slovakia) and Kaleb Pitman (’04/Alexandria, Minn.) In addition, Rayne Walsh (’05/Wilmington, N.C.) and Will Burnevik (’06/Champlin, Minn.) had two assists apiece. Matthew MacArthur (’04/Barrington, Ill.) stopped 30 of 32 shots in the victory.
Pueblo Bulls 7, Boston Dogs 0
The Bulls welcomed brand new NCDC members (since November) the Boston Dogs to a home series in Pueblo, but dampened the trip with a 7-0 defeat of the Dogs on Saturday night. Noel Friedman (’05/Denver, Colo.) made 22 saves for the shutout. Matsvei Marshchanok and Siamion Marshchanok (’05/Minsk, Belarus) had a 2-1-3 and an 0-2 line, respectively. Lance Mengel (’04/Cleveland, Ohio) and Liam Coutu (’06/Granby, Que.) each had a goal and an assist.
Ogden Mustangs 3, Idaho Falls Spud Kings 2 (SO)
The Mustangs earned a big win to stand in front of the Mountain Division by one point. William Cherniak (’04/Desert Blume, Alb.) scored a goal and an assist, plus the game-winning shootout goal to push the Mustangs to the win. Dilans Birkans (’06/Ilskile, Latvia) made 19 saves on 21 shots in 65 minutes, plus three of four shootout attempts. On the other side, Charlie Durkin (’06/Glencoe, Ill.) made 36 of 38 saves in 65 minutes of action.
