Port Huron Fighting Falcons Pre Draft Camp

The NAHL’s Port Huron Fighting Falcons will be holding a Pre Draft Camp in Mount Clemens Michigan the weekend of May 31st through June 2nd.

Check in for the camp will begin at 2:30 eastern time on May 31st and end at 5:30.  Players will be hitting the ice shortly there after.

General Manager and Head Coach Michael Gershon said the following about the event:

“This year we are looking to identfy those players that truely want to play in Port Huron.  We are looking to build on last season with players that can come in and contribute.  At the same time, we would like to add players that can grow with the team and develop in both the short and long term.”  Gershon went on to say, “Our team is committed to moving players up and on the the highest levels of hockey that they may reach as individuals.  This past year we have had success in moving players to the USHL and NCAA ranks and we will look to continue that trend this season.”

On Tuesday May 7th, Port Huron Players Matt Jones and Tyler Spezia were selected in the United States Hockey League Draft. The USHL is the only Tier 1 junior hockey league in the United States.

Nolan Valleau, who played for the Fighting Falcons during the 2011-12 season was selected in the third round of last year’s USHL Draft, and played the entire 2012-13 season at the Tier 1 level with the Des Moines Buccaneers and the Chicago Steel.

Development is not just a phrase that is used in Port Huron, it is a core belief.
