Pre Draft Combine Player Success – Austin Albrecht Gets NAHL Call Up

It was only two weeks ago that Austin Albrecht received Offensive Player Of The Week accolades from the Eastern Hockey League.  Article

The 1996 Forward now has 20 points in 26 league games, 14 of those points being goals.  Seen as a deadly accurate goal scorer, as well as having play making ability, Albrecht has been on the North American Hockey League scouting radar for several teams over the last two seasons.

With multiple NAHL main camp invitations this past summer, Albrecht made the decision to stay home and focus on school in preparation for any NCAA competition he may face in the coming years.

In the summer of 2012, as a 16 year old Albrecht was the last player cut from the loaded Jamestown Ironmen.

Albrecht is currently tied for fourth in goals scored in the Eastern Hockey League, and is one of only two 1996 birth year players in the top ten in goals scored.

Austin Albrecht will be making his NAHL debut with the Wichita Falls Wildcats this weekend as they face off against the Corpus Christi Ice Rays.
