Pre Draft Combine Success Story – Connor Lovie Commits To Cochrane Crunch

Connor Lovie, a recent participant in the 2014 Pre Draft Combine has committed to the NOJHL’s Cochrane Crunch.  The first of three to five Pre Draft Combine participants to commit, this is what the Crunch had to say;

It’s #CRUNCHTIME,

On Friday May 9th 2014 Connor Lovie and his dad Shawn made the long trip to Cochrane from London Ontario.  They came to check out the town of Cochrane and Coach Ryan Leonard’s operation with the hopes of finding future home.

Well I must say the weekend ended well for both parties, with Connor committing to come and play in Cochrane next season for YOUR Cochrane Crunch.

Connor is a big boy measuring in at 6’1″ and weighing in at 195 lbs.  Oh and to top it all off he is only 16 years old turning 17 on June 25th of this year.  Last season he played Defence for the Mount Brydges Bulldogs Junior ‘C’ Hockey Team as an under ager.

I took a few minutes to talk to Connor about his upcoming move to Cochrane and here is what he had to say.  “I love the community everybody has gone out of their way to welcome me.  Seems like this place is hockey crazy and that is the best place to play hockey.  I am also excited about getting a fresh start in a more competitive Hockey League.  This is my first time leaving home to play hockey and I am a little nervous but I can’t wait to tackle the challenges that are ahead.”

I also had the opportunity to talk to his dad Shawn and he said “My wife and I are a little nervous but we believe Cochrane is a good place for Connor to grow as a player.”

Welcome to the Crunch you are going to be a great addition to the blue-line.

Keep your stick on the ice!!!
