Saturday Scores: Pawloski’s perfect weekend paces Austin

Austin 3 @ Minot 0 – Jason Pawloski posted his second straight shutout, keeping Minot off the scoreboard all weekend, with a 25 save performance on Saturday in a 3-0 win. The 17-year-old netminder stopped all 58 shots that came his way in the two road shutouts. Josh Bretner had a shorthanded goal, Riley Colvard scored a power play goal and AJ Reid had an even strength goal for the Bruins. Ryan Ruck made 28 saves in the losing effort for the Bruins. Kenai River 2 @ Wenatchee 1 – The Brown Bears salvaged one game of the three game set in Wenatchee with a 2-1 win on Saturday. Marcus Zelzer made 35 saves in the win for Kenai River. After a scoreless 1st period, the Brown Bears would get on the board midway through the 2nd period with a power play goal from Matt Seidel. Trace Redmond tied the game midway through the 3rd period, but Alec Butcher answered with another power play goal, which would eventually be the game-winner for Kenai River. Boxscore
 
Texas 4 @ Wichita Falls 3 (SO) – Texas increased their winning streak to an NAHL-high 10 straight games with a 4-3 shootout win on Wichita Falls, completing a weekend sweep of the Wildcats. Things looked good early for the Wildcats as Kyle Bauman and Nick Farmer have them a 2-0 lead in the 1st period. Texas would strike back in the 2nd period with goals from Jackson Leef and Jason Eddy. Eddy would score again in the 3rd period for Texas, but that was answered by a goal from Colin Staub. Three Texas shooters scored in the shootout for the win. Boxscore
 
Fairbanks 8 @ Fresno 3 – It was another offensive outburst as the Ice Dogs dominated play, outshooting Fresno 45-15 in an 8-3 win on Saturday night. Eight different players scored for the Ice Dogs, who scored the first three goals of the game and never looked back. Nick Hinz, Colton Wolter, Patrick Newell, Mike Parnell, Jakob Romo, Jacob Hetz, Lonnie Clary and Logan Wendling all had goals for Fairbanks. All of Fresno’s goals came in the 2nd period from Ian Janco, Dan Sherer and Tyler Shipstad. Boxscore
 
Bismarck 2 @ Aberdeen 1 (OT) – Nate Repensky scored :21 seconds into overtime to give the Bobcats a weekend road sweep of the Wings. The game was also highlighted by a goaltending battle between Bismarck’s Aaron Nelson, who made 32 saves and Aberdeen’s Chad Catt, who made 44 saves. Bismarck took a 1-0 lead early in the 2nd period on a goal from Stanislav Dzakhov. Zach Kraft tied the game less than three minutes later. Repensky’s game-winner came on the power play early in overtime. Boxscore
 
Amarillo 3 @ Topeka 1 – The Bulls outshot the RoadRunners by a wide 39-18 margin and ended up with a 3-1 win and weekend road split with Topeka. Amarillo never trailed as a 1st period goal from Ryan Cole gave the Bulls a 1-0 lead. Clint Carlisle made it 2-0 early in the 3rd period. Brandon Brossoit answered for the only RoadRunners goal of the night. An extra attacker for Topeka wasn’t enough to tie the game as Gage Christianson added an empty-net goal for the win. Boxscore
 
Corpus Christi 6 @ Odessa 2 – The Ice Rays scored early and often in a 6-2 road win in Odessa, which salvaged a weekend split of the road series. The IceRays opened up a 3-0 lead in the first nine minutes of the game with goals from Rudy Sulmonte, Lucas McDiarmid and Emil Romig. Wayland Williams made it 4-0 early in the 2nd period before Odessa got on the board with goals from Taylor Portner and Matt Volonnino. The IceRays would get two 3rd period goals from Beau Walker and an empty-netter from Brandon Smith to complete the 6-2 win. Boxscore
 
Jamestown 2 @ Springfield 3 – Two 3rd period goals from Brett Skibba would be the difference for the Jr. Blues as they salvaged a weekend home split with the Ironmen thanks to a 3-2 win on Saturday. Springfield never trailed in the game as a 1st period goal from Micah Ranum gave the Jr. Blues a 1-0 lead. Brett Szajner tied the score late in the 1st for Jamestown. Skibba scored both his 3rd period goals in a span of 1:18 in the final three minutes. Ryan Doucet added an extra attacker goal to cut the lead to 3-2. Boxscore
 
Kalamazoo 6 @ Janesville 5 (SO) – It was a tough night for goalies and a wild night for the offenses as the Jets stormed back from a 4-1 deficit only to see Kalamazoo tie the game late in the 3rd period, then win in a shootout to complete a weekend sweep of the Jets. Trevor Boyd, Robbie Payne, Kyle Gattelaro, Kody Polin and Brett Beauvais all scored for the K-Wings, while Jason Ford scored twice for Janesville and Conor Lemirande, Zach Diamantoni and Todd Koritzinsky added goals for the Jets. Brookings 5 @ Coulee Region 4 – The Blizzard jumped out to a 3-0 lead, but needed a goal with just :52 seconds remaining in the 3rd period from Tyler Cayemberg to secure the 5-4 win and weekend road sweep of the Chill. Cayemberg’s game-winning goal completed a hat-trick for the forward. Jared Docken and Aidan Cavallini had the other goals for Brookings, which helped build an early lead. Adam Lovick scored twice for Coulee Region, who also got goals from Garrett Hendrickson and Eddie Matsushima. Boxscore
 
Johnstown 5 @ Soo 4 (SO) – The Tomahawks scored three of the final four goals in regulation, then four of five shooters scored in the shootout as Johnstown salvaged a weekend split of their road series against the Soo. Brandon Adams had two power play goals for the Eagles and Alexander Taulien and Sean Murphy also scored. Johnstown got two goals in regulation from Cody Gylling, who also scored in the shootout. Mitch Hall and Connor Wirhgt added the other markers for the Tomahawks. Boxscore
