Stanstead Spartans surface on NHL Central Scouting

Stanstead College seniors Alexandre Coulombe and Nicolas Beaudin have found themselves listed on the NHL Central Scouting’s mid-season rankings for the 2013 draft.
Alex, a native of Granby, is listed at No. 91 among North American skaters. Beaudin, named MVP forward at this past weekend’s home invitational, is ranked No. 209.

By comparison, last year’s NHL prospect Mark Jankowski entered the Central Scouting ranking at No. 74. He was eventually drafted in the first round by the Calgary Flames.

At 6’4” and 189 pounds, Alex joined the Spartans this year from the Cantonniers de Magog. The defenceman has 6 goals and 15 assists to date this season.

A native of St-Bruno, Nicolas is in his second year in a Spartan uniform and is the team’s leading goal scorer with 21 goals and 16 assists in 35 outtings. At 6’00” and 170 pounds, Nicolas is an alternate captain on the team.
