Texas Hockey Coach Death Attributed To COVID-19

Tyler Amburgey was a very accomplished junior hockey player with time spent in the NTDP and winning a Clark Cup Championship with Dubuque during the 2010-2011 season.

Tyler went on to player several years of minor professional hockey after completing his time in the USHL. One of the few players who have made the jump right from the USHL to minor pro.

On August 30th, Tyler Amburgey passed away due to complications with COVID-19. Leaving behind his wife Aimee and daughter Rylee. A Go Fund Me page has been set up by the Texas Tigers organization to assist them at this time.

The 29 year old defensive specialist Coach and native of Texas also coached with the Dallas Stars U-18 team in the Tier 1 Elite League last season.
