After receiving invitations to attend open try outs with the USHL’s Muskegon Lumberjacks, Goaltender Lindsey Sciacca, Forward Joe Sofo, and Goaltender Aaron Andrews played their way through to main camp.
Sciacca, a California product that was a relative unknown player only allowed six goals in five games, including the all-star game. After that he followed it up with a shutout performance in his first game of main camp.
Sofo, last year with Victory Honda Midget Minor, produced points and physical play all three days. Having played eleven games over a six day span after attending Indiana Ice camp the week before, he continued to carry the play into Muskegons main camp.
Andrews, a local product from Reeths Puffer High School in western Michigan, is proving he can continue to develop. An athletic goaltender he has made many saves keeping his team in every game throughout camp.
The atmosphere in Muskegon is one that rivals one in the NHL with new ownership and coaches in place. All Owners, Coaches and Scouts have been on hand evaluating players at every game.
There has been no shortage of NAHL and NCAA scouts attending camp as well. Many players have placed themselves firmly on college scouting schedules with their efforts thus far.
