It’s an exciting time to be a graduate of NCAA Div. I hockey for three certain BCHL alums.
Bradem Pimm, Wade Epp and Mark Zengerle have all signed contracts to play in hockey’s top minor league.
Zengerle will skate for the Grand Rapids Griffins, the top farm club of the Detroit Red Wings while Pimm and Epp have been snapped up by the Washington Capitals top affiliate, the Hershey Bears.
Over two seasons in the BCHL with the Salmon Arm SilverBacks, Zengerle racked up 213 points including 149 assists and was named Interior Conference MVP in 2009. He was the league’s co-leading scorer in 2010, tying Beau Bennett with 120 points. At the University of Wisconsin, the Rochester, N.Y. native piled up 162 points in 151 games.
Pimm played three seasons with the Vernon Vipers, winning RBC Cup national championships in 2009 and 2010. The product of Fort St. John, B.C. scored 64 goals and 97 assists for 161 points in 179 career games. At Northeastern University, he tallied 42 goals and 43 assists for 85 points in 139 games over four seasons.
Epp spent parts of two seasons in the BCHL, playing 13 games with the Surrey Eagles in 2008 and 28 games with the Victoria Grizzlies in 2009. The 6-foot-5, 210-pound rearguard had five assists in that span. After a redshirt season due to injury, he went on to four seasons at Northern Michigan University, recording nine goals and 25 assists in 141 games.
