Bloomington Thunder 2 @ Youngstown Phantoms 3

Youngstown earned the victory after a 7-round shootout in which goaltender Colin DeAugustine stopped 5 of 7 shots. DeAugustine stopped 25 of 27 shots during the regular season and overtime. Forward Kyle Connor scored a goal and now has points in every game this season. The goal was Connor’s 50th USHL career goal. Defenseman Vas Kolias had 2 assists on the night, both on the power play.

Lincoln Stars 4 @ Muskegon Lumberjacks 3

Michael Gillespie scored 2 goals on the night, one coming on the power play. Lincoln turned things on in the second period with goals from Cam Lee, Patrick Polino and Gillespie. Muskegon forward Matheson Iacopelli scored 2 goals, with one coming on the power play. Lincoln goaltender Cam Hackett stopped 40 of 43.

Omaha Lancers 2 @ Cedar Rapids RoughRiders 1

Omaha goaltender Hayden Hawkey may have gotten the win, but both goaltenders shined in this close contest. Hawkey stopped 24 of 25 shots, while Cedar Rapids goaltender Ben Blacker stopped 32 of 34 shots. Shane Gersich played the role of hero as he scored both Lancers goals. The Washington Capitals draft pick and University of North Dakota commit now has 3 goals on the year.

Waterloo Black Hawks 6 @ Sioux Falls Stampede 4

Waterloo scores 2 empty netters in the third in a hard fought game. Brock Boeser and Niko Hildenbrand each scored 2 goals. Tyler Sheehy has a power play goal and an assist on the night. Sioux Falls peppered goaltender Hayden Lavigne with 32 shots.

Chicago Steel 2 @ Tri-City Storm 1

Chicago goaltender John Lethemon came up huge stopping 34 of 35 shots. The lone goal was given up on the power play. Chicago’s penalty kill was 1 for 3 on the night. Last year’s USHL rookie of the year Robby Jackson netted the game-winning goal in the third period.

Madison Capitols 4 @ Green Bay Gamblers 5

Green Bay came back from a 3-1 deficit to win 5-4, including a 3-goal third period to force overtime. 8 different players scored for the Gamblers, and Mitch Snyder was the lone multi-point scorer with 2 assists. Sam Miletic scored the OT-winning goal.

Dubuque Fighting Saints 5 @ Sioux City Musketeers 2

Going into Week 3, the top goal scorer in the USHL was Dubuque forward Brett Boeing after netting a hat trick last week. Boeing proved the 3 goal performance was not a fluke, adding another in addition to 2 assists on the night. J.D. Dudek and Shane Kavanagh each had 2 point nights.
