USPHL Premier Players Of The Week: Northeast Region

Atlantic Division 

Forward: Serres Sadler, Hershey Cubs

Sadler (‘06/Canmore, Alb.) had a busy weekend between Feb. 7-9, scoring four goals – including a game-winner, and adding six assists for 10 points. It was enough to push him to a point per game average for this season with 33 points in 33 games.

 

Defense: Brandon Jung, Elmira Impact

The USPHL All-Stars selection was on fire before that Jan. 27-28 event and he’s remained as such here in February. After posting five points in his first game back after the All-Stars, he also put up five points in the Impact’s two games of Feb. 7-8 vs. the WBS Knights, all assists. He has improved to 44 points in 37 games this year, more than five times the points from his 2023-24 Premier rookie season. 

 

Goaltender: Timothy Miller, Rockets Hockey Club

Miller (‘04/Fairless Hills, Pa.) made 44 saves on 47 shots for a big win for the Rockets who are racing to seal up a playoff spot. The two-year veteran is 3-3-0-0 this year and he has seven wins and a .916 save percentage for his Premier career. 

 

New England Division 

Forward: Edijs Freimanis, Islanders Hockey Club 

Second-year Premier player Freimanis (‘05/Riga, Latvia) put up four goals and two assists in a pair of 2-1-3 performances against the Junior Bruins and Thunder Hockey Club. He now has 20 goals for this season and 30 for his career, as well as 53 points in 63 games.

 

Defense: Nick Zanin, Springfield Pics

Zanin (‘04/West Stockbride, Mass.) sent home the game-winning goal and added two assists for three points, all against the perennially strong Northern Cyclones. He has 51 points this season, good for a tie for third in USPHL Premier defensemen scoring. He also took part in the USPHL All-Stars Event, registering a tie there. 

 

Goaltender: Cade Rose, Springfield Pics

Rose (‘06/Apex, N.C.) made 36 saves on 37 shots to help the Pics defeat the Cyclones, and with that victory lifted his record to 7-1-1-0 and his save percentage to .921 in this his rookie junior season after joining from the New Hampshire Jr. Monarchs 18U program. 

 

Canada Division

Forward: Alexis Roy, Hawkesbury Knights

Roy (‘05/Mercier, Que.) registered a goal and added four assists in two games against College Universel Gatineau and Somang L-L Hockey last weekend. He has improved to 37 points in 37 games this year. 

 

Defense: Danick Lalonde, Hawkesbury Knights

Lalonde (‘06/Gatineau, Que.) registered three assists in a showdown with College Universel Gatineau, improving his stats to 15 points in 31 games. He is an alum of Le Sommet Academy, a member of the North American Prep Hockey League, an affiliate of the Knights. 

 

Goaltender: Simon Thibault, Universel Sherbrooke 

Thibault (‘04/Salaberry-de-Valleyfield, Que.) came up huge in a win against the Montreal Black Vees on Feb. 8, stopping 40 of the 41 shots he faced. Thibault improved to 7-6-2-0 on the season and he is 11-11-2-0 in his two-year Premier career with a .912 save percentage. 

Selection Process: Divisional statistical leaders are presented to coaches, who are able to vote on the leaders, or nominate and vote on alternate candidates.
