Penticton, B.C. – The Penticton Vees Junior Hockey Club is pleased to announce the appointment of Adam Sergerie as the organization’s new Director of Scouting.
“I have had an opportunity to watch how Adam has put together talented teams in Sherwood Park,” began Vees President, General Manager, and Head Coach Fred Harbinson. “I know that his detailed approach and his ability to lead our regional scouts will give us the best opportunity to achieve our goal of winning a WHL Championship and Memorial Cup.”
Sergerie will lead the Vees’ scouting department as the team prepares for its inaugural season in the Western Hockey League (WHL), which begins in September.
“I want to start by thanking Fred Harbinson and the ownership group led by Graham Fraser for the opportunity to serve as the Director of Scouting for the Vees. I am eager to learn from an organization with such a rich history of success and am excited to work with the rest of the staff. Together, we will strive to build on the Vees’ legacy and continue the tradition of excellence,” commented Sergerie.
Sergerie joins the Vees after spending the previous four seasons as the Sherwood Park Crusaders’ General Manager and President of Hockey Operations. This season, Sergerie assembled a Crusaders’ roster that features three players, and one recruit listed in NHL Central Scouting’s Final Rankings for the 2025 NHL Draft. The Crusaders’ roster features NHL Draft prospects Jeremy Loranger and Kale Dach, who finished first and second in BCHL scoring in the regular season. Both were named to the BCHL’s First All-Star Team and Loranger was also named to the league’s All-Rookie Team.
Prior to his time in Sherwood Park, the Thunder Bay, Ontario product was the Director of both Player and Coaching Development at the Knights of Columbus Hockey Club in Edmonton, Alberta. There, Sergerie also worked as a head Coach and assistant coach for the program’s U15, U16, and U18 teams.
Prior to his career in hockey, Sergerie played four seasons of junior hockey in the SIJHL and MJHL. He then enrolled at Lakehead University in his hometown of Thunder Bay, where he played four seasons and was the team’s captain in his last two years. At Lakehead, Sergerie earned Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Education degrees. He then went onto play two seasons of professional hockey in Germany.
Sergerie lives in Edmonton, Alberta, with his spouse Miranda and kids Bella and Maddy. The Vees look forward to welcoming Adam and his family to the organization.
