2 for Tront as Eskimos edge Beavers

BLIND RIVER – Ryan Tront tallied twice in the third period to help lead the Abitibi Eskimos to a 3-2 decision over the Blind River Beavers Saturday evening in a Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League contest held at the Blind River Community Centre.

Abitibi took the lead with the opening goal of the night 13:36 into the contest as Brennen Roy supplied his seventh of the season to put the Eskimos up 1-0 after 20 minutes.

Battling back in the middle session, Blind River notched the equalizer courtesy of Kyle Huhn at 12:39 as he finished off a feed from Nathan Hans.

A Tront man advantage effort five minutes into the final frame put the Eskimos back in front only to see Nathan Johnson supply the equalizer with 10:40 to go in regulation.

Tront countered just 75 seconds later however as he fired home the game-winner to give the visitors to win in the tightly contested affair.

Ryan Kerr had a pair of assists to aid the offensive cause for Abitibi, including one on the decider.

Braddock Baalerud finished with 28 saves to register the victory for the Eskimosi while Zach Mills saw 48 shots fired his way in the setback for the Beavers.
